Today we are finishing work on the Circulatory and Digestive Systems. We will soon be heading over to look at the Respiratory System and how some systems work together.
In Math, we are doing some more Commission problems. They are attached to the blog. These questions are due for tomorrow's class. If you have any questions, please refer back to the example from yesterday, or contact me.

Today's Math
Today, students in 8S are responsible for completing pages 22 and 23 in their math booklets. We will be correcting them tomorrow.
In 8M, students are not expected to do these pages....they will be assigned tomorrow in class. However, please check out the notes on Commission to see how we are solving these problems.

Digestive System
We have begun the Digestive system in 8M....we will be starting it tomorrow with 8S. Our focus is on what the different parts of the system do and where they are located. We will also look at how the Digestive system and Circulatory system are connected. Am trying to get my smartboard info on here....but running into some stumbling blocks. Will continue......
As for Math, students will be expected to have pages 18-21 completed from their booklet by tomorrow, with the exception of questions #9 and #10 on page 19.
Some students are choosing not to copy the notes down from Math class and then complaining that they do not know what to do. It is NECESSARY for students to copy the notes as I go over the questions step by step and show how to solve them. Not copying the notes will be a huge detriment when it comes time to completing assignments, studying for tests or reviewing for the exam. Notes are not an option.....students are expected and required to copy them.

The World's Most Dangerous Drug
We are watching a video today on Meth Amphetimine. Looking at the effects of the drug on the human body and how dangerous of a drug it truly is. If you are interested in watching it, you might have some success finding it online. If not, you are welcome to borrow my copy and watch it at your leisure.

Trying to figure it out!
Still working on trying to get our smartboard info and notes on this blog.
We will be having a short quiz on Monday (the 19th) on Percents in Math.
For science, students were given a booklet on the heart. This will be corrected next science class and will be for marks.
Also, Mrs. Zieske shared her pet with us today. Malibu is a corn snake and was passed around and talked about the entire day. Pretty exciting! We will be looking at the difference between a human heart and what a reptile's heart looks like and how it works.
